Things you’ll never hear UW-Seattle Electrical Engineering (EE) students say, ever.
IEEE in short is a global organization comprised of professional electrical and electronic field related engineers, who have done many different things from educating society on electrical and directly related technologies as well as developed many standards for common devices used in common day applications, from serial connectivity to Firewire on PCs to a wide variety of different electrical related products and services. See the (IEEE patents page) for a comprehensive list of patents and standards developed by IEEE and their associates/members.
IEEE UW Student Branch (UWIEEE) is a subsidiary of the global IEEE organization. Comprised of local University of Washington undergraduate/graduate students and faculty, our mission is the same as above but with an local emphasis. We host guest speakers, social events, and competitions. IEEE is open to all students in fields ranging from engineering, mathematics, physics, business, law, and more!
